Teresa Martinez, Founder of Roots & Remedy has collaborated with Austin’s 1st Bilingual Doula Collective – Birth Comadres. A community of mothers who are full spectrum doulas, bodyworkers, yoga instructors and comadres. Together we are the true concept of it takes a village…

With the presence of a doula on a birth team, you are decreasing your chances of a cesarean birth, the length of labor, use of oxytocin, and the use of an epidural. Doulas are able to educate your family and be present 24/7 during your prenatal term. A doula is ready to assist you at home during early stages of labor. She can meet you and your partner at the birthing center of your choice to guide, support and massage you during labor/birth. Families need continued support postpartum, and a doula is the right person who’s knowledgable to help assist mother and father as needed.

We love our doula families! Belen and Juan (couple in photo) from Spain hired R & R bilingual doula for many reasons, such as: *New to Austin *No family to support them and needed emotional, educational and physical support *Natural hospital birth *2nd birth, but first was traumatic *Desired essential oils and music to be present during labor *Connect with their language and with someone who could translate and advocate for them at hospital *Needed a massage (LMT) doula to physically massage mama and infant pre/postpartum

Come meet Teresa and Birth Comadres at our monthly “Meet and Greet Doulas” the first Saturday, 11-1 p.m., 6700 Manchaca Rd, Austin, TX. RSVP by text: 512-831-6606
